South Asian Social Forum to be held in Dhaka Nov 18
The South Asian Social Forum 2011, an international platform to address different contemporary issues for a peaceful South Asia, will begin in Dhaka on November 18. The five-day forum will be held, for the first time in Bangladesh, from November 18-22. University of Dhaka (DU) will co-host the programme.
DU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique said this at a press conference in the city’s Cirdap auditorium yesterday. The theme of the forum is ‘Democracy for Social Transformation in South Asia: Participation, Equity, Justice and Peace,’ Prof Arefin said.
