One of the many unintended consequences of the Arab Spring has been the exposure of world powers in their true colors. Having long been in the business of Machiavellian realpolitik, Britain was the first to change horses midstream, effortlessly switching its patronage from the tottering Egyptian regime to the pro-democracy protesters when the Tehrir Square began to rumble.
