UK Adultery Website Sees Surge in Hits After Christmas
London, UK (PRWEB UK) 29 December 2011 — UndercoverLovers.com, a dating website for married people seeking extra-marital affairs, has reported a post-Xmas surge in new memberships. Since Christmas Day 19,863 people have registered on the site. This is almost three times the usual daily sign up rate.
UndercoverLovers.com spokesperson Emily Pope says: “After launching the site in 2010, we were taken by surprise by the post holiday surge in new memberships last Xmas. This year we anticipated it and have hired extra Admin staff to deal with the deluge, but even we have been staggered by the numbers signing up over the last two days.”
Renowned relationship expert and authoress Dr Maryse Vaillant who advises Undercover Lovers comments: “The Xmas holiday season can be a time of great strain for marriages. Families are forced to spend more time cooped up at home together than usual. If there are already fault lines within the marriage, they can be exacerbated to breaking point by the stresses and strains of Xmas.”
Leading family lawyer Vanessa Lloyd-Platt states: “We traditionally see a dramatic increase in couples seeking divorce after the Xmas and New Year break. 2011 has been an especially tough year, with difficult economic conditions and job uncertainty placing great strains on marriages so I’m not surprised to hear that some spouses are seeking an escape route via adultery.”
After last year’s post Christmas boom UndercoverLovers.com surveyed 5,000 of its members who had joined the site immediately after the holidays, on why they had signed up. The Top 5 reasons given were:
- Being taken for granted by my husband or wife.
- A need for some romance.
- Boredom, a need for sexual excitement.
- After an argument with my husband or wife.
- Bad Xmas presents or no presents from my husband or wife.
Undercover Lovers is the UK’s foremost extra-marital dating agency. With over 580,000 members, the site was created to provide a safe, discreet and non-judgmental environment, where married women and men can meet. The majority of the site’s members are 30 and 40 something professionals earning on average £10k more than the country’s average wage and have been married 5+ years.
