Hindu Mahasabha wants to install Gandhi killer’s bust at public places – The Hindu
Projecting Mahatma Gandhi’s assassin Nathuram Godse as a ‘nationalist political leader’ and terming him as ‘an irreplaceable asset to the intellectual discourse of Hinduism’, the Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Mahasabha wants to install Godse’s busts at ‘public places’.
The Mahasabha, which has already procured a sculpted Godse bust, currently on display at its headquarters in central Delhi’s Mandir Marg, will write to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday seeking the government’s permission to install them.
“When there are roads named after Akbar, Aurangzeb and Mahatma Gandhi, why is the idea of installing sculptures of a national hero like Godse such a big issue?” the Sabha’s national president Chandra Prakash Kaushik told The Hindu .
