Hindu fanatics attack Church, two schools in Jabalpur – Hindustan Times
A group of Hindu hardliners attacked a church and two schools in Jabalpur late on Friday night. They were unhappy over a Christians’ Convention taking place at St Peter & Paul Church and accused the church of promoting conversion.
The miscreants, about 50 in number, mainly belonged to Dharma Sena and Bajrang Dal. They first vandalised Parish House located inside the St Peter & Paul Church and later attacked St Thomas and St Aloysius School and beat up people who had come to participate in the Christians’ Convention. More than a dozen people were injured in the incident, one of them critically.
After the convention ended on Sunday, the matter was brought to the notice of Christian outfits in Bhopal. By this time, Jabalpur police had not initiated action against any of the accused despite the church authorities presenting video footage of the incident and naming some of the accused.
