Malaysia’s SME & Entrepreneurship Business Awards event to be held 14 November
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 17 (Bernama) — The SME & Entrepreneurship Business Award 2018 (‘SEBA 2018’) is back again for the third consecutive year and will take place on 14 November 2018 at the Grand Ballroom, Palace of the Golden Horses. Calls for nominations are currently open via www.seba.asia
According to Nitesh Malani, Founder of Yayasan Usahawan Malaysia (MyPreneurship), the organiser of the award, “The SME & Entrepreneurship Business Award 2018 showcases exemplary individuals and companies who are gamechangers in various disciplines. Here are leaders who have successfully transformed their organisations and created inspiring legacies to be emulated by others. These winning companies are drivers of Malaysia’s economic growth and will pave the way forward towards continuous progress.”
SEBA 2018 was set up as an initiative to not only recognise Malaysia’s biggest outstanding entrepreneurs and enterprises, but also to uncover growing talents and upcoming companies that are transforming the face of industries they operate in.
Nitesh Malani adds that MyPreneurship hopes to support the country’s SME business landscape by harnessing the experience and expertise of the award recipients to share with others, as role models to learn from and be emulated. “It is critical for SMEs to connect and collaborate on a synergistic platform for mutual benefit. Not just an award, SEBA 2018 is a catalyst for entrepreneurs to grow together with their team members and to meet other like-minded entrepreneurs through MyPreneurship’s year-long programmes to educate, train and mentor entrepreneurs.”
Making its inauguration this year also at the awards would be SEBA’s flagship Entrepreneur Education Institute (EEI). The institute aims to provide entrepreneurship programmes designed to produce resilient entrepreneur leaders with viable business plans, acting as both and incubator or accelerator. Launching together would be the prestigious SEBA Business Club that would provide in-depth networking and knowledge to fellow nominees and awardees.
“The unique entrepreneurship programmes that are being developed will combine rigorous knowledge facilitated by the SEBA alumni of practising entrepreneurs and investors,” says Nitesh who hopes that aspiring entrepreneurs will be able to engage with like-minded people to cross-pollinate ideas, test and arrive and solutions that will lead to successful business propositions.
SEBA 2018 will also see a list of significant associate organisers teaming up to provide the necessary support and networking platforms for all SEBA awardees. Amongst them are the Malaysia Retail Chain Association (MRCA), ASEAN Retail-Chains & Franchise Federation (ARFF), Institute Quality Malaysia and many more trade organisations.
This year, the advisory board that will be providing strategic counsel to SEBA 2018 comprise key individuals known for their strengths in entrepreneurship and business acumen.
