Philippines mulls 4-day school week proposal | Manila Bulletin
Manila, Philippines — Some lawmakers expressed support yesterday for a proposed four-day school week to help ease the massive traffic jams that are expected when work on 15 road and other construction projects in Metro Manila start this month.
The Department of Education (DepEd) said it would form a panel to study the proposal of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).
The Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP) said it is laudable that MMDA is looking for creative solutions but the four-day week may be a short-sighted solution to a problem that needs a long-range one.
