Turkey, Germany see economic gains from termination of Iran sanctions
Ankara, July 15, IRNA – Turkish Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci’s said on Wednesday successful finalizing of Iran-major powers’ nuclear negotiations is a very positive development of which Turkey will gain most benefits.

‘Phased termination of the multilateral and bilateral anti-Iranian sanctions will lead to paving the path for economic cooperation with Iran and making investments in that country,’ said Zeybekci in a statement issued by the Turkish Economy Ministry.
He said that Turkey’s efforts aimed at peaceful resolving of the Iranian nuclear issue both in the international scenes and in the bilateral level had always been pursued and that Ankara had always played a pioneering, constructive role in that respect.
The Turkish minister refered to Iran’s 80 million strong population, rich mineral resources, and strong agricultural and industrial capacities, suggesting that Iran is considered a major economic partner for Turkey in the region.
‘Despite the entire unfavorable conditions and the sanctions, the volume of bilateral annual trade is currently 13.7 billion dollars. The Turkish companies during the tough era of the sanctions provided the requirements of the Iranian nation in the framework of international regulations, proving that they are by the side of the Iranian nation,’ added the Turkish minister.
Zeybekci also said that Turkey has prepared itself and expects to benefit most from the termination of the anti-Iranian sanctions.
He refered to the preferential trade agreement signed between the two countries in January 2015, expressing hope that after the termination of the sanctions the volume of bilateral trade reach the 30 billion dollar target.
German official: We want increase in economic ties with Iran
Tehran, July 15, IRNA – A spokesperson for German Economy and Energy Ministry announced on Wednesday that his country intends to increase trade ties with Iran in the shortest possible time.
The official said that German economic and trade sectors are interested in increasing relations with Iran. Already, a number of German officials have announced their country’s interest in expanding economic ties between Tehran and Berlin.
While competing companies are trying hard to sign trade agreements with Iran, German businessmen have declared their concern for being far from Iran’s lucrative market.
German export to Iran in 2014 and upon temporary Geneva Agreement between Iran and Group 5+1 by a 30-percent increase reached 2.4 billion euros.
