Korea Palestine Center Opens in Hebron, Occupied Palestine
RAMALLAH, August 12, 2015 (WAFA) – Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) has celebrated the completion of the follow up project for Korea Palestine Center of the Hebron Municipality on the 6th of August, with contribution of around $300,000.
This follow up consisted of procurement of equipment such as desktops, laptops, transport car, IT and network equipment, electronic games and gym equipment, in addition to construction of a 60m2 cafeteria to serve student and community visitors.
The follow up also had another component which is the Mtree Creative and Collaborative Program at Korea Palestine Center, started from July 27th till August 6th, with total support of KOICA of USD 62,650.
Mtree is a global-minded non-profit organization that networks passionate professionals, and for this program around 37 Korean Volunteers have arrived to Hebron from Korea, Europe and USA to conduct classes in 5 topics: Music, Art, Dance, Fashion and Astronomy. The 160 students are aged between 7-16 years old.
The purpose of this program is to maintain sustainability for the center especially for the astronomical observatory, KOICA said.
The closing ceremony for the mtree program also took place along with the Equipment handover ceremony. The ceremony included an exhibition of the children’s drawings, and a performance of music, dance and a fashion show.
