Beijing sees Iran as a strategic partner for global cooperation
Beijing, Oct 10, IRNA – Vice-President of the China-Iran Friendship Association (CIFA) Tai-fu Lin said on Saturday that Beijing regards Iran as strategic partner for international cooperation.
Speaking to the Sixth Annual Seminar of Iran-China Relations, Lin underlined benefiting from chances available in light of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.
She said her country is willing to use the opportunities available to promote ties with Iran because Beijing takes Iran as strategic partner for cooperation on the international level.
She said that progress in the Iran-China friendly relations have over recent years followed ups and downs as mutual political confidence has been on the rise. She said that over the past two years, Iranian and Chinese presidents held meetings on ample occasions and each time they discussed the most important topics, which shows high importance of the ties between the two governments.
The Chinese official said Iran-China cooperation has over the past years constantly followed growing trend in the economic, energy, military, security and cultural areas. ‘The noteworthy point is that China pays special attention to relations with Iran and always considers Tehran as an important and strategic partner on the international level.’
Lin said China has always been striving for cooperation with Iran in various domains and the cooperation has remained unchanged under various conditions. She said that expansion of Iran-China relations faced a new opportunity after the JCPOA.
‘China and the Iranian government are willing to benefit from the current situation and focus on promotion of ties and cooperation.’ Iran-China relations should grow day by day and friendship associations, as popular institutions, have had a major share, she said.
Lauding success of five meetings held by the mutual friendship association, she called them as symbol of Tehran-Beijing friendly relations.
