Energy Security “Pivotal” for Economic Development – Asian Ministers
DOHA, Qatar, Nov 10 (NNN-QNA) – The sixth Asian Energy Ministerial Round-Table, concluded late Monday, with participants unanimously agreeing on significance of energy security, as pivotal for economic development. Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs and Acting Minister of Electricity and Water, Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, headed Kuwait’s delegation to the one-day event.
Qatari Minister of Energy and Industry, Mohammad Al-Sada, in a closing statement, said, reducing carbon gas emissions and the growing importance of natural gas as a clean energy source, were also among the issues agreed upon.
On coordination among members of the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), over production and outcomes that might be reached in the cartel’s Vienna meeting on Dec 4, the Qatari minister said, both OPEC and non-OPEC members were in “constant and extensive” contacts, so as to reach solutions for the decline in prices.– NNN-QNA
